Description

Communications is a national 4-H project. It features curriculum that will guide you through the project. For a copy contact your County 4-H Office or order online at National 4-H Service Supply. For additional curriculum possibilities, explore the National Directory of 4-H Materials and do a key word search for Communication.

Communications 1
What you can do in this project: engage in non-verbal, verbal and written activities; strengthen your personal communication skills; encrypt codes, write songs and give directions.

What you can do in this project: learn to become a confident communicator; present oral reasons, plan and present speeches; practice making good first impressions.

County 4-H Ambassador Program
Many counties offer Teen Ambassador programs to help promote 4-H. Check out the Ambassador and Advisory Guidebook for common Ambassador roles and responsibilities, profiles of county Ambassador programs, and a number of Ambassador tools. Ambassadors are trained locally and may attend Wisconsin 4-H Youth Conference for further training. The conference, for youth in grades 8-10, is scheduled each June at the UW-Madison campus. Contact your county Extension office for details.

County Fair

The county fair . . . what a great time it is! Every summer, families flock to county fairs to see the latest 4-H project exhibits. Exhibiting is a fun and educational way for youth to showcase their project work to judges and to the public. Judging materials are supported by Bill Shaw in memory of his wife, Shirley.
