Lois and Don BoothDonald and Lois Booth

Lafayette County 4-H Volunteers

Donald and Lois’s 4-H journeys began years ago: Lois helped organize the Union Hustlers 4-H Club in Grant County, where she remained a member for 10 years. Donald joined the Elk Grove Boosters 4-H Club in Lafayette County as a youth. The Booths were leaders for the Cuba City Merry Mixers 4-H Club. Their four children and three grandkids were active in that club, which is still going strong in 2014.

Donald and Lois retired after 45 years of volunteering, but continue to help. Their contributions have earned many accolades: Lafayette County Holstein Appreciation Award (1982); Hillery 4-H Leader Award (1983); Wisconsin State Fair Century Farm Family (1985); 4-H Meritorious Award (2002) and the Rodney Coulthard Award (2006). They have served on the Cuba City Rescue Squad, Lions Club and Lafayette County Dairy Promotions Committee.

The Booths have practiced good citizenship and leadership and have been positive role models for many families, youth and communities by being active in 4-H. Their involvement in their community, 4-H, county and state exemplifies their character and the influence they had helping youth succeed in Lafayette County.
