Wisconsin agricultural educators can apply for a SARE mini-grant

Do you have a sustainable agriculture project in mind that just needs a little funding to get off the ground?  The Wisconsin SARE Program mini-grant program may be your answer.

The deadline to apply for this cycle of mini-grants is February 10th, 2017.  You can find the application form and information about the mini-grants at  https://fyi.uwex.edu/sustagexample/resources/mini-grants/

The maximum mini-grant amount is $3,000, but we encourage applications for smaller amounts, and applications that involve partnerships both within and outside of UW Extension.

We particularly encourage projects in

  • Perennial agriculture, agroforestry, and pollinator habitat, and
  • Soil health and cover crops, including grazing of cover crops.

However, we also welcome other sustainable agriculture project ideas.

We will review the applications and get back to applicants with the funding decision or requests for further clarification by March 6th, 2017.

We strongly encourage you to submit your mini-grant application by February 10th, however, we recognize that good and time-sensitive ideas can emerge at other times of the year.  So we also accept mini-grant applications at other times of the year.  Allow at least 30 days for proposal reviews at other times.

Please note that these mini-grants are for agricultural educators, not for farmers, and projects with ANRE Extension involvement will be given priority.
