Mindfulness-Enhanced Strengthening Families Program (MSFP)

The Mindfulness-Enhanced Strengthening Families Program: For Parents and Youth 10-14 (MSFP 10-14) has been enhanced with effective mindfulness techniques that support families. It is based on a proven program (Strengthening Families Program for Parents and Youth 10-14) developed in Iowa and implemented across the US and around the world.

The Strengthening Families Program is one of the most promising universal evidence-based family preventive interventions, especially showing:

  • Increase positive family relationships
  • Lower rates of alcohol, tobacco and marijuana use among youth throughout high school
  • Substantial return on investment -$9.60 cost savings for every $1 invested

MSFP 10-14 offers the following Mindfulness-Enhancements:

  • Increased the quality of parent-adolescent relationships
  • Increased the skills in mindful parenting
  • Aided with youth management practices
  • Increased parent psychological well-being and stress reduction
  • Enhanced fathers’ parenting compared to the standard program
