The Mindfulness-Enhanced Strengthening Families Program: For Parents and Youth 10-14 (MSFP 10-14) has been enhanced with effective mindfulness techniques that support families. It is based on a proven program (Strengthening Families Program for Parents and Youth 10-14) developed in Iowa and implemented across the US and around the world.
Evidence-Based Program
The Strengthening Families Program is one of the most promising universal evidence-based family preventive interventions, especially showing:
- Increase positive family relationships
- Lower rates of alcohol, tobacco and marijuana use among youth throughout high school
- Substantial return on investment -$9.60 cost savings for every $1 invested
MSFP 10-14 offers the following Mindfulness-Enhancements:
- Increased the quality of parent-adolescent relationships
- Increased the skills in mindful parenting
- Aided with youth management practices
- Increased parent psychological well-being and stress reduction
- Enhanced fathers’ parenting compared to the standard program
