Make plans now to attend the 2017 WIMGA Annual Conference in October. Hosted by the Washington County Master Gardener Association, the conference will be in West Bend, Wisconsin. Sessions include topics such as gardening for pollinators, deer resistant landscapes, permaculture, Facebook for MGVs, extending the growing season and much more. Many speakers including Mike Maddox, Edgar and Martine Anderson and Susan Carpenter will share their expertise on a variety of garden-centric subjects.
Rich Eyre, owner of Rich’s Foxwillow Pines Nursery in Woodstock, IL will be giving the presentation, “Unique Conifers Make a Garden Special” at Rotary Botanical Gardens in October. Learn how to site and select conifers for every garden location. Conifers can improve the garden with form, texture, unusual shapes and seasonal color. Colorful coning attributes, buds and interesting bark characteristics add to their appeal. There is a conifer for every garden space.
