The family of Clarence Fredrich, through funding from the SE WI Pork Producers, is sponsoring three scholarships recognizing high school seniors and college freshmen pursuing a career in agriculture.
Clarence was actively involved in the SE WI Pork Producers Association, very supportive of youth programming in agriculture and community events and activities. Special thanks to the Wisconsin Pork Association (WPA) for facilitating these scholarships.
Up to three scholarships will be given to high school seniors or college freshmen from Walworth, Racine and Kenosha Counties. There will be two $1000 and one $750 scholarships given. The scholarships recognize the value of leadership in ag projects, programs, events and activities.
All applicants must be pursuing a post high school education, e.i., college, technical college, short course, etc. and have a sincere interest in agriculture. They must also reside in Walworth, Racine or Kenosha County.
All applicants must answer questions on separate sheet and are required to fill out and return the attached form and additional pages, cover letter and resume no later than DECEMBER 1, 2017, to: WPA/Fredrich Memorial Scholarship, PO Box 327, Lancaster, WI 53813.
Finalists will be chosen from the applications received by the scholarship committee panel. Each of the finalists will be contacted to schedule a final interview to determine the scholarship award winners.
The scholarship will be awarded after the WPA office has received a copy of the finalist’s first semester transcript showing the student is in good academic standing.
