Did you know that research has shown that kids’ eyesight improves in their teen years? Yes, they see EVERY inconsistency in what you say compared to what you do! Okay, research hasn’t proven this, but young people are especially skilled at pointing out to parents when they don’t “walk the walk.”

Be an eParent®! Use online tools to become more aware of health-related behaviors. With your teen, play the online game that simulates texting and driving. Talk about how this is behavior that neither of you should do and how you can hold each other accountable.

Your teen relies on you to be a good role model. You can tell your kids something repeatedly and it won’t make a difference if your actions are not consistent with your message. Set a good example about risk-taking and model positive behaviors for your kids.

Check out why teens themselves say they take risks!
