In some cases, grants, low interest loans or tax incentives may be available to help offset the cost of purchasing higher efficiency devices. They are available through utility energy conservation programs, state efficiency programs, and federal programs. There are two types of savings that the program are looking for. 1) basic energy savings – use less energy; 2) Lower demand or horsepower requirements so new power plants don’t need to be built that would be used only a few days per year.
