SharePoint Login Instructions

Cooperative Extension is currently transitioning many of our SharePoint 2010 (Workspaces, Intranet) resources to SharePoint 365, part of Office 365. Currently, we recommend that you start with our legacy SharePoint 2010 login to find the resource you are looking for. If it has been moved to SharePoint 365, you will be prompted to login again using the SharePoint Online login instructions.

How to Login SharePoint 2010 (Workspaces and Intranet)

Logging in to the Coop Intranet uses your UW-Extension email login account and password. Of course nothing can be easy, so unlike your other logins which use just “firstname.lastname”, this system will require the full email address. For most of you that will be: “”.  (Some groups, such as Wisconsin Geologic and Natural History Survey have different email addresses.)

If the email login does not work for you, you can use the following format: “uwcx\firstname.lastname”.

How to Login SharePoint Online (if prompted)

You will likely first get a Microsoft Sign in page:

If you have both a work and personal account using the same email address, you’ll get a screen like this. Choose Work or school account:

You’ll then get a windows box, and THIS is where you’ll use the uwcx\ domain.

Alternative SharePoint Online Login Instructions

If you know that the SharePoint site you want to access is already in SharePoint 365, start here:

and click the big “Office 365” button.  This does the steps above in reverse order, but gets you logged in to the overall O365 environment, which includes Outlook 365, SharePoint 365 and more.
