We use agricultural chemicals for many different purposes around the farm and in the field. These chemicals may include pesticides, insecticide, rodenticides, cleaning solvents, and even medications. Every chemical has the potential to be harmful to humans, but each varies significantly in the risk they present to us. Proper handling procedures can reduce the risk of working with chemicals.
In the video “Introduction to Agricultural Chemical Safety” (English & Spanish), UW-Extension Jackson County Agricultural Agent Trisha Wagner discusses the risk factors to consider when handling agricultural chemicals, acute effects, and safety measures. Other videos in the Agricultural Chemical Safety Series include:
- Dermal Exposure to Chemicals (English & Spanish)
- Inhalation Exposure to Chemicals (English & Spanish)
- Eye Exposure to Chemicals (English & Spanish),
