If you are looking for relatively current basic profiles of the workers employed in your community or profiles of the employed residents of your community, try the Local Employment Profiles developed by the U.S. Census as part of their Longitudinal Employment Dynamics program. Accessible online through OnTheMap, these basis profiles provide timely data on employees by age, education, monthly earnings, and industry.

  1. On the map allows you to geographically analyze who works in your downtown district. Among other functions, it allows you to build a map with symbols to indicate how may workers are employed by block. Very helpful when demonstrating the significance of the daytime population.
