ALL EXTENSION COLLEAGUES ARE INVITED TO PARTICIPATE!
The UW-Extension Community Food Systems Team will hold their 4th Annual In-Service on September 13-14th near Stevens Point at the beautiful Central Wisconsin Environmental Station (CWES). This two-day in-service will begin with registration at 12pm, September 13th and will end at 4:00pm on September 14th.
Currently, the DRAFT CFS Team In-service Agenda includes an update on the team, colleague presentations and discussions, a specialist panel addressing food safety impacts on different sectors of food systems and a tour of Whitefeather Organics (transportation will be provided). The tour will include an update from Farmshed and on-farm wood-fired pizza dinner…what could beat that? If your answer is-the beautiful and peaceful atmosphere that CWES has to offer and maybe a dip in the lake then no worries, you don’t have to attend the tour you can hang back and RELAX at CWES.
The agenda includes an opportunity to share your food systems work and engage colleagues in a discussion about the food system issue you are working on. If you are interested in presenting and leading a discussion, please take a look at the Call for Proposals. PROPOSALS DUE AUGUST 5TH.

Lodging information and instructions for travel reimbursement
The lodging facilities are camp bunkhouses that sleep 8-11 people in a room (not private rooms) and have shared shower/bathroom facilities.
If you require hotel-style accommodations for your evening lodging, the closest hotel is about 15 miles or a 20 minute drive from the station and is in Stevens Point. See below for more information. We encourage you to stay at the CWES if you are able to!
Please make your own reservations if you stay at the hotel. We encourage you to do so as soon as possible to ensure you can get a room.
Snacks and meals will be provided by CWES and will include local ingredients! The tour on September 13th will include a dinner of wood-fired pizza from Whitefeather Organics.
The cost of attending the in-service on September 13-14th will be reimbursed.
Costs covered are:
-mileage to and from the in-service
-meals and lodging Sept 13th-14th (meals and snacks will be provided at CWES and therefore other food purchases will not be reimbursed)
***Participants will need to submit their own electronic TER to receive reimbursment***
Instructions for submitting TERs will be sent out after the in-service.
