Dr. Patrick Robinson began his UW-Extension academic career in 2000 and has held several academic and administrative roles, including serving as a multi-county Natural Resources Educator, Environmental Restoration Specialist, Lake Superior National Estuarine Research Reserve Acting Manager, Environmental Resource Center Specialist/Co-Director and Interim Director for the Community, Natural Resources and Economic Development Program Area. In 2017, Patrick was hired as Associate Dean in the Department of Agriculture and Natural Resources for the University of Wisconsin Cooperative Extension.
Throughout his career, regardless of his roll, Patrick has been a prolific writer and presenter related to numerous natural resource topics including water quality and watershed management. During a portion of his career he also worked closely with Great Lakes Native American tribes on wild rice restoration and conservation. He has received two Project of Excellence awards from the USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture. Patrick recently received the Chancellor’s Award of Excellence, the ESP Visionary Leadership Award and Wisconsin Partner of the Year award from Ducks Unlimited.
Dr. Robinson has an outstanding track record of successful grant writing bringing in over $10 million in funding during his Extension career either as a Principal Investigator or Co-Investigator, with the majority of those funds being associated with his Principal Investigator role.
