DOTS Training and Upham Woods on Wisconsin Public Television

DSCN1374_opt Last Friday, October 16th, we had a fantastic training session on using our DOTS kits.  About 15 people attended and we couldn’t have asked for more beautiful weather. Educators, led by our research naturalists, had the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in creating strategies for using the DOTS kits as they hiked around Blackhawk Island. Using the tools they were able to explore a wide range of subjects, covering everything from climate to geology to macro-invertebrates.

We also had part of the indoor program filmed, featuring a presentation by Dr. Justin Hougham about strategies for applying field friendly technology in environmental science education. This will air as a segment on University Place (Wisconsin Public Television), keep your eyes peeled for the air date, which we will post on Facebook.
