Midwest Extension Compost School
June 8-10, 2010
The Midwest Composting School 2010 features an intensive three-day program that will train participants in the science of composting, handling feedstocks, enhancing compost quality, sampling and analytical processes, environmental regulations, application rates, source separated food waste and understanding compost markets. The school focuses on a combination of hands-on training, lecture and discussion, facility operator panel discussions, compost facility tours, and problem solving.
This three-day school will be held at the University of Wisconsin West Madison Ag Research Station in Madison, WI from June 8 through June 10, 2010. Certificates will be provided to the participants upon successful completion of the school. Facilities include air-conditioned classrooms, on-site parking, and quick, easy access to all demonstration areas.
This school is a collaborative effort between the University of Wisconsin Extension, the University of Minnesota, and Iowa State University.
