EPA Provides New P2 Tools/FAQS and Training Modules

The USEPA Pollution Prevention Program is pleased to announce the enhancement of the P2 Green House Gas and Cost Calculator tools based on regional/end user feedback as well
as newly released data sources.

The updated tools and FAQs are now posted on the EPA website:
http://www.epa.gov/p2/pubs/resources/measurement.html. Slides from the recent training on P2 measurement tools are available at
http://www.p2.org/general-resources/p2-data-calculators/.

The following highlights significant changes:

Green House Gas (GHG) Calculator

The GHG tool will no longer rely on NERC region emission factors but will use state-specific emission factors based on newly released eGRID data. Please note that this change impacts the following tabs:
Electricity Conservation, Green Energy, and Water Conservation.

Cost Calculator

The following data sources were updated:

— Fuel Use and Electricity Use tabs (updated eGRID data)
— Water Use and Water Conservation tabs (updated AWWA data).

A new data source was added for biodiesel costs (as part of the Fuel Use tab).

*** End users now have the ability to use state specific emission factors for computing electricity reductions into cost savings

A NATIONAL webinar will be held in January of 2013 for training purposes.
