What to do when a compact fluorescent bulb breaks?

The increase use of flurescent bulbs will certainly lead to an increase in the number of bulbs that accidentally break in homes or other locations. Clean Sweep or recycling program managers are often contacted by residents when a bulb breaks. So what should you tell them? In 2008 Maine’s Department of Environmental Quality released a CFL breakage study report. The US EPA reviewed this study and has provided an updated CFL cleanup guidance.
