Implications of MFL changes — DNR interim guidance and FAQs

Last week shortly after the Governor signed the MFL change bill (now Act 358), the DNR sent an e-mail to the forestry community highlighting the changes and their implications. The two attached referenced in the e-mail are linked in the text.

Council Members and Interested Parties,

Yesterday Governor Walker signed into law ACT 358 (http://docs.legis.wisconsin.gov/2015/related/acts/358) pertaining to the tax law programs. Attached is the interim guidance and frequently asked questions which were developed in an effort to assist you in understanding and implementing the new provisions. Please remember this is interim guidance and was developed using current information. We felt it was important to reach out quickly to provide direction on the changes.

In the next few weeks, the Department will be further refining the interim guidance and seeking broad public input through the Department’s Program Guidance system and procedures. In addition, please watch for an opportunity in the near future to answer questions. In the meantime questions can be directed to Pam Freeman-Gillen at pam.freemangillen-at-wisconsin.gov.

Thank you.
