2017 Agronomy Day planned for Feb. 23, 2017

Sharpening the pencil to analyze the cost of crop production is more important than ever with commodity prices at or below production costs. It is critical to focus on crops enterprise budgets as well as the whole farm balance sheets. These are among the topics to be discussed at the University of Wisconsin-Extension 2017 Agronomy Day to be held on Feb. 23, 2017 starting at 10 a.m. at the Five Pillars Restaurant, Random Lake.

Corn: Deciding when to harvest corn in 2014

Recent reports from around the state indicate that the corn will have higher moisture contents at harvest than typical years. Delaying harvest to allow for field drying can be used to reduce drying costs but field losses will start increasing the longer the corn is allowed to stand.
