A webinar entitled “Long Term Care: Planning for My Future Needs” will be held Thursday, Feb. 23, 2017, at various University of Wisconsin-Extension offices across Wisconsin. This webinar is the sixth in a series of webinars from UW-Extension that will focus on a variety of farm succession topics. This two-hour webinar begins at 1 p.m.
Farm business owners looking to the future of their farming operations have many issues to consider. Succession planning includes planning for the owner generation’s later years; business planning to ensure the operation has financial capacity; developing the successor’s management skills; and estate and tax planning.
One important planning step that can be overlooked or may be avoided because it’s an uncomfortable topic is planning for long term care needs. Careful consideration of your goals and the options available is important to develop the right plan for care in your later years.
