The Lincoln County 4-H Dog Project Committee has been meeting to plan for this year’s weekly dog training and Fair Show. They have asked that the dates be announced so those who plan to participate can get these dates on their calendar. Dates are as follows for the orientation and weekly training:
- Dog Project Orientation Meeting will be held on Monday, May 1, 2017 at 6:30 p.m. in Lower Level Room 156 of the Lincoln County Service Center at 801 N. Sales Street in Merrill. No dogs at this meeting. If you are planning to participate in this year’s 4-H dog project and Fair Show, you are asked to attend this meeting to learn more about this year’s opportunities and ask questions.
- Weekly dog trainings will begin the following week on Monday, May 8th from 6 – 8 p.m. at the Merrill Festival Grounds in front of the rotunda and east of the Lokemoen Building. Trainings will continue weekly on Monday evenings at the same time and location with the final training to be held on Monday, July 17th. Trainings will include agility, obedience, rally obedience and showmanship.
The Fair Dog Show will be held on Saturday, July 29th at 8 a.m. with a rain date of Sunday, July 30th at 8 a.m. in the area by the Humane Society. We want to thank the Humane Society for their willingness to work with us to hold our show in their beautiful fenced in area. More information and registration materials are below and were sent on April 20th to all enrolled 4-H dog project members. So if you are interested in participating in this year’s dog project, please be sure that you are enrolled in one of the dog projects.
