R is a a free software environment for statistical computing and graphics.  It provides a variety of statistical techniques such as linear and nonlinear modelling, classical statistical tests, time-series analysis, classification, and  clustering, as well as publication-quality plots and graphical display.

R is available as Free Software under the terms of the Free Software Foundation’s GNU General Public License. It runs on Windows, MacOS, and a wide variety of UNIX platforms and similar systems.
