Pork Quality Assurance (PQA) Plus version 3 will be offered to all area pork farmers. The meeting will take about 3 hours in total.  At the end of the training, area farmers will be given an open book test where they can miss up to three questions and pass. Topics to be covered are Food Safety, Animal Welfare, Public Health, Workplace Safety, Environment, and Community. The certificate is good for three years and could be followed up with an on farm site assessment.

If producers are still certified they may re-certify online by calling Zen Miller, UW-Extension Dairy and Livestock agent at 920-832-5124 or email zen.miller@ces.uwex.edu.  There is no charge for this class and farmers will receive an educational manual as well.  Plan now to attend.
