Blackboard Collaborate for Online Meetings Resources

For UW-Extension, Cooperative Extension colleagues, there is a new tool for online meetings called Blackboard Collaborate.  It’s been built like it’s the conference room down the hall, but is available for colleagues to meet virtually and share visuals (like PowerPoint slides, documents, desktop, etc.)  It is very much like other tools you may have used like WisLine Web, LiveMeeting, Adobe Connect, GoToMeeting, etc.

For online meetings, this free service is available Monday-Friday from 8 am to 4:30 pm. Audio is restricted to Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP). A headset with microphone is recommended.  You will need to reserve one of the “rooms” via either Outlook or Outlook Web Access using your CES Outlook email username and password.

For all other potential uses of Blackboard Collaborate, including but not restricted to, webinars, web presentations, educational programming, we recommend contacting Instructional Communications Systems (ICS).  ICS is equipped to fully support users including the ability to add phone lines and support on evenings and weekends.
Regardless of your use of Collaborate, there is wonderful online documentation available from Blackboard.
