Job Opportunity – 4-H Youth Development Coordinator

4-H YOUTH DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR FOR DANE COUNTY UW-EXTENSION

Dane County UW-Extension is looking for a 4-H Youth Development team member who is committed to improving the lives of youth by providing educational experiences and working to change systems and transform communities. UW-Extension’s values of community, discovery, inclusiveness, relationships and respect will guide the 4-H Youth Development Educator in achieving the position’s primary outcomes.

Primary responsibilities of the position:

  • Design, deliver and teach culturally relevant community-based educational programs
  • Reach and engage diverse audiences and ensure full access to programs, facilities and educational services
  • Build, strengthen and sustain trust-based relationships to promote cooperative and respectful work environments
  • Be responsive to the evolving needs of youth and the communities they live in
  • Identify, recruit and develop volunteer leadership necessary to carry out the position’s plan of work
  • Participate as an active member of the Dane County UW-Extension team to assess community needs, develop relevant solutions and provide the best educational programs

We are looking for the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with coursework in educational principles, curriculum development, program evaluation and/or the cognitive and social development of youth and adults
  • Experience working with youth programs in an urban setting
  • Experience (paid or volunteer) working in communities or neighborhoods and partnering with volunteers or organizations to address educational needs
  • Experience effectively interacting with people from different cultural backgrounds
