Updated Ag Weather Website

As some of you found out this past summer our server that hosted the Ag Weather site that supplied reference ET values had a catastrophic failure and due to the age of the equipment and outdated software it couldn’t be fixed in a timely manner for the growing season. We are working diligently to ensure it is running for the 2017 growing season. You can now log in and setup the ET email service for next spring at http://agweather.cals.wisc.edu/sun_water/et_wimn.  An updated version of the WI Irrigation Scheduling Program will also be available for next spring. We will announce it when it is ready and offer some training sessions on its use.

Water Spouts – Monthly Irrigation Newsletter from North Dakota Cooperative Extension (posted 3-7-2016)

This newsletter is published from May to October and contains helpful items to aid in doing a better job at irrigation. In the September 2015 newsletter there was an article on the time required for a pivot to apply various depths of water based on different well capacities. This could be helpful for determining how much water was applied based on the time it took the pivot to complete a rotation. Wisconsin Irrigation Scheduling Program Training (WISP)  (Posted 2-24-2016)

Training will be held March 4 from 1 to 4 PM at the Hancock Agricultural Research Station in Hancock. Training will introduce the features of the web-base irrigation scheduling program and help participates start setting up some fields. This is a hands on training. Pre-registration is required.
