Badger Plots is a UW-Extension and Outreach program designed to showcase on-farm research and survey projects conducted throughout the state of Wisconsin. Program goals are:

  • to highlight cooperative projects between growers, Extension specialists, Extension agents, and/or agricultural professionals
  • to identify the many ongoing applied research efforts in the University of Wisconsin-Extension
  • to promote synergies between projects to advance on-farm relevance

Badger Plot Criteria

What makes a Badger Plot different from on-farm demonstration plots?
Badger Plots satisfy three very important criteria. They:

  • Address grower needs in areas lacking previously generated data
  • Include a valid research hypothesis and sound experimental design including randomization and replication
  • Include cooperation by at least one State Extension Specialist, County Extension Agent, and grower
