Hello! I’m Wayne Brabender. For over 30 years I’ve had the privilege of serving as photo specialist for the Wisconsin 4-H Program. And I’ve had great fun judging 4-H photos at county fairs all around the state.

I retired in 2008, but I wanted to continue supporting the 4-H photo program in some way. Photography had grown to be the largest 4-H project in Wisconsin with over 11,500 members and 550 volunteer leaders. I couldn’t give all that up!
I’m a native of Ashton, where I grew up on a small dairy farm, not far from Madison. I started taking photos at 11 when I earned a camera for selling magazine subscriptions. Later, when I studied journalism at UW-Madison, I fell in love with photography, and I’ve been at it ever since. (more…)
